Business Implications of Copenhagen

CAMBRIDGE RESILIENCE FORUM

PRESENTS

Business Implications of Copenhagen - discussion with the Minister of
Water and Environmental Affairs

The University of Cambridge Programme for Sustainability Leadership, invites you to a panel discussion on the business implications of the recent UN Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen.

Copenhagen was a disappointment to many as no binding targets were agreed upon and the viability of the UN negotiating process itself was brought into question. But, just before the Copenhagen negotiations President Zuma made quite a bold proposal for South African carbon emission reductions up until 2025, confirmed these in the the last-minute negotiations with the US, Indian, Chinese and Brazilian presidents and was party to the final negotiations that led to the Copenhagen Accord.

How can our country achieve these ambitious targets and keep the lights on? How will the global climate discussion unfold in the future? What regulations and incentives can South African businesses expect as we accelerate our transition to a low carbon economy?

The Minister of Water and Environmental Affairs, two business leaders and one of the country's top climate policy experts will share their views on the Business Implications of Copenhagen.
